A small lie on an application is a big problem the day someone checks.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
An application is the one place a small exaggeration gets stored, signed and kept. It sits there quietly and only matters on the day somebody checks, which is usually the day you most need the thing. The cost is not embarrassment, it is losing the whole position over something you did not need.
If you are filling one in this week, put down what is true and use the space to explain rather than inflate: what you have actually done, what you are learning now. If something is already out there with a stretched line in it, correct it before anyone asks.
What did you stretch on a form that could be verified?
