Every family begins eventually with people who were once strangers.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Go back far enough in any family and you find two people who did not know each other. Every warm kitchen, every set of shared traditions, every group that now feels like it was always there began with strangers meeting and deciding to build something. Belonging is made, not discovered.

If you feel outside of things, that is a fact about time rather than about you. The families and friendships that look permanent were assembled by people willing to be awkward with each other first. Whatever you are trying to build has to go through the strangers stage, which is not a sign it is failing.
