Someone else’s excitement does not have to become your deadline.

Enthusiasm is contagious and it arrives carrying a schedule. Somebody turns up keen, wanting an answer, a decision, a start date, and their momentum gets treated as a shared timetable you never agreed to. Their excitement is real and it is also theirs, and it says nothing about when the thing should happen for you.

Separate whether you want it from when they want it. Say you are interested and will come back with a date. If the offer only survives at their speed, that is worth knowing before you rearrange anything.
