Leave room for the person who experiences crowds differently from you.

A room that is pleasantly full to you can be genuinely hard for someone else. Noise, heat, and the impossibility of leaving without crossing everyone are not preferences for that person; they are the whole experience of the evening. Because it costs them to explain, most say nothing and either endure it or stop coming.
When you plan something with people in it, build in an easy edge: a quieter corner, a seat near the door, a reason to step outside that needs no excuse. Tell people the shape of the evening beforehand so they can prepare. And let someone leave early without turning their leaving into a topic.
Who finds the outings you plan more overwhelming than you realize?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
