A temporary patch needs a reminder, or it quietly becomes the permanent arrangement.

Temporary is a claim about intention, not about time. The fix works well enough, the urgency passes, and the thing that was going to be sorted out properly next month becomes part of how everything runs. Nobody decides to keep it. It simply stops being visible, which is the whole mechanism.

Whenever you put something in place for now, attach a date to it before you walk away. Put that date where you will actually see it, and when it arrives, either fix the thing properly or decide on purpose to keep the patch.
