The person willing to begin badly has an advantage over the person waiting to begin perfectly.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Starting badly beats not starting, by a margin that grows over time. The person who began poorly is already collecting information, making mistakes worth learning from, and improving, while the one waiting for the right conditions is still at zero. Perfection at the start is not available to anyone.
Lower the bar for beginning specifically. Not for the finished work, only for the first version. Write the bad draft, make the clumsy attempt, have the imperfect conversation. You can raise the standard later from a position of having something to raise, which is a much better place to stand.
