An update changes the familiar route before every user is ready to learn another.

LEADERSHIP
Changing something people have learned is never free, even when the new version is better. The people most inconvenienced are usually the ones who had finally got comfortable, and that includes anyone for whom learning a layout takes real effort. Improvement measured only in features misses the cost paid in relearning.
If you are the one making a change this week, leave the old path working for a while, or say plainly what moved and where it went. If you are the one disrupted, allow yourself the slower pace without treating it as a failing.
When did a change you made cost someone else their footing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
