RESILIENCE
Real persistence does not need an audience, because it happens on ordinary days with nothing at stake. The people doing it are usually too busy doing it to narrate it, and the story tends to appear afterwards, if at all. Loud accounts of toughness are often the substitute for the thing rather than evidence of it.
