Guitar hurts your fingertips for the first month. That’s the fee for playing songs forever.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Nearly everything worth being able to do has an entry cost paid in discomfort at the start. Sore fingertips, a raw throat, legs that hate you after the first week. None of that means you are doing it wrong. It is the body building what it needs in order to keep going, and it is temporary in a way the skill is not.
Give whatever you are starting a fixed number of weeks before you judge it. Four is usually enough for the worst to pass. Decide during the easy part, not in the middle of paying the fee.
Which skill’s painful first month are you refusing to pay for?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
