Closure is something you give yourself, not something you wait for in their DMs.

Waiting for an explanation hands the ending to someone who may never provide one, and who might not have an answer that would satisfy you anyway. The desire for closure is really a desire for the story to make sense. You can build that meaning yourself, out of what you actually observed. Nothing about that requires their participation.

Write the account of what happened as you understand it, including the parts you do not know. Decide what you are taking from it and what you are leaving. Then stop checking for a message that would not change any of it.
