If you have a voice, use part of it for someone who doesn’t.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Having a voice that gets heard is a resource, and like any resource it can be spent on yourself or lent out. The people who most need something said for them are usually the ones with the least standing to say it, which is what makes borrowed credibility valuable. Using a fraction of yours costs little and changes the room.

Think of one person in your school, team or workplace who is regularly talked over. Say the thing they cannot say, or name them out loud in a room they are not in. Then let them speak for themselves.
