Numbers are held temporarily by definition, because somebody is always coming through who will do slightly better. How you treated the people around you is not in competition with anyone, so nothing displaces it. One of those is a position on a list and the other stays inside individuals.
Put your effort into being useful to the people beside you, particularly the ones struggling. Notice who is having a bad season and help without making a thing of it. Nobody is going to break that.
