Grief doesn’t follow the schedule people expect. Neither should your healing.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
There is a timetable other people carry around for how long sadness should last, and it has nothing to do with you. Grief comes back in weeks you thought were finished and goes quiet on days you expected to be unbearable. None of that pattern is a sign you are doing it wrong.
If someone is waiting for you to be over it, you are allowed to let them wait. Keep one or two things in your week that steady you and let the rest move at whatever speed it moves. On a day it lands hard, you could tell one person who will not ask you to hurry.
What schedule is your grief refusing to keep?
