A bad haircut grows out. A bad week ends. Most of the things that feel permanent at sixteen aren’t.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Almost everything that feels like a permanent condition right now is a temporary state seen from too close. The sense of permanence is real, and it is also a trick of being inside something: when you cannot remember feeling different, the mind concludes you never will. Hair grows, weeks end, groups reshuffle, and the mortifying thing becomes a detail.
List three things that felt enormous two years ago and see where they sit now. Keep the list, so you have evidence to hand next time something feels fixed forever. If something genuinely is permanent, that is different, and worth talking through with someone rather than carrying alone.
