When your legs are done in a race, the crew’s rhythm carries you a few more strokes. Find your crew.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A point comes where your own effort runs out and something outside you has to carry you, and in a boat that is the rhythm everyone else is holding. The same happens in a study group, a shift, a team: on days you have nothing, other people’s momentum does part of the work. That only exists if you built it before you needed it.

Think about who would actually carry you if this week went badly. If the honest answer is nobody, start by turning up reliably to one group thing. The people you can borrow rhythm from are the ones you have been in a room with often.
