In a hive, nurses feed the young, guards protect, foragers gather. Nobody’s job is “be important.”
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
In a working system every role exists because something needs doing, and none of them are about status. Trouble starts when people begin competing for importance instead of doing the thing in front of them, because importance is not a task and cannot be finished. A group where everybody wants the visible job has nobody left to feed the young.
Look at what your team actually needs and take a piece of it, even when the piece is unglamorous. Say out loud what the less visible roles are for. Praise one of them this week by name.
Are you doing your actual role or chasing the important-looking one?
